Now a Government Authorized Translator certified by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Education, Research and Church Affairs, I first got involved with translation work while still in high school, when I started translating German pulp fiction into my native Norwegian for various publishing houses.
Having worked continuously as a freelance translator and interpreter while pursuing studies in fine arts, languages, and literature in Paris, Vienna, Colombia and the U.S., I was employed by Eriksen Translations in New York City as an in-house linguist upon completing my final graduate degree. After working for this company for more than four years, I went fully independent again in 2002. Altogether, I now log 20+ years of translation experience in a variety of fields. My special expertise and official accreditation are in English, Norwegian, and French, but I also work with Spanish, German, Swedish and Danish.
